Design/Illustrations Interior Book Design
We have an on-staff designer who oversees preparation of new interior book designs upon customer request. Samples are provided, using, where possible, actual copy and art from the project. Matching specifications or InDesign templates can be provided if needed.
Illustrations
Many of the projects that we handle include management of the art program. As soon as we receive the artwork we catalog it and begin preparation of the art log. After that, our Graphics Department reviews any materials that were sent on disk and does any preliminary conversions that are needed prior to sizing the art.
We can work with materials prepared in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, and Quark, and we can convert most Microsoft Word charts and graphics to Illustrator. We do most scanning and grayscale conversions inhouse, while illustrations that need to be redrawn are generally handled by freelance artists.
Our production editors are responsible for sizing the art according to the customer s specifications and for providing a final art log on schedule prior to paging.
